This is an animated sequence for Chris Qualls's 2018 short 3:14. It's a story about several people stuck inside during a disasterous event, trying to cope with the lack of any and all forms of entertainment. The project was a joy to work on, and it allowed me to experiment with a slightly more eerie and gritty style than my previous projects.
Recently I've been doing a lot of work with Chris Qualls, a local indie director operating out of Cookeville and Knoxville. In 2017 I had the opportunity to do several animated sequences for him, but above all the rest was The Branch, a live action short taking place in a small town library where something odd is going on.
In The Shadow of Monsters is a national award-winning animated short about an alien invasion. It received a silver medal from the National Scholastic Art and Writing Awards and was nominated for Best Animated Short at the 2015 All American High School Film Festival.
Manmade is a locally award-winning animation about the monsters we create due to our greed, avarice, and blindness to our effects on the world around us.
This one was just for fun.
The storyboard was created by a Tumblr user by the name of Caledscratch in 2011, and I felt compelled to make it into a full-fledged animated music video.
This is Tex, a character from an animated pilot I've been brainstorming.
